East
Branch Sno-Rovers & ATV Club
We
are a snowmobile club located in Medway (and East Millinocket), Maine,
the heart of some of the best snowmobiling in the country. Miles of
scenic groomed trails wind their way throughout the beautiful north
Maine woods.
The East Branch Sno Rovers clubhouse began in 1972. It is
located along the banks of the of the east branch of the Penobscot
River between Medway and East Millinocket, Maine.
ATV trail 604 south of the clubhouse by the sandpit
will be closed from Saturday, Oct. 5 at 5:00 pm until Tuesday morning for police
firearms training. Please use Wilderness Drive as an alternate
route.

Below is a map of the East Branch Sno-Rovers & ATV Club
ATV trails. I’ve drawn in the Wildflower Loop which was added this year
and shown where the new trail goes off towards Millinocket.
The trail does not go any further north than the Northern end of the
Wildflower Loop. In the past we had gone an additional five miles but
this has been closed at the request of the state because it does not go
to any destination.
Please note the you CAN NOT ATV up to Whetstone Falls. All of snowmobile
ITS 83 trail is not an ATV trail. There are landowners in this area who
absolutely do not allow ATVs. We have heard some people say that with
the new bridge from Millinocket open you can ride to Whetstone and on to
Sherman and Shin Pond. This is not true.
You can get to both Sherman and Shin Pond along with other points north
by taking our trail system east to Mattawamkeag. There it splits and
heads north to these areas as well as south and east to Lincoln, Lee and
beyond.
Currently there is no new map showing the complete connection to
Millinocket but the trail is on Polaris Ride Command.
Ride safe and enjoy yourselves out there!

The trail to Mattawamkeag is now open. The washouts and culverts on
Pinkham Road have been fixed. Please note that there are logging
operations in the area and you may meet logging equipment and trucks on
Pinkham Road. Remember, THEY ALWAYS HAVE THE RIGHT OF WAY!
___________________________________________________________________________________________________________
ATV trail 83 north of Stratton Trail (112
Connector) is closed. This was a dead end that only went towards the
National Monument which does not allow ATVs. Please respect the
landowners and either turn around here or do the new Wildflower loop.
Previously this trail ended at Soldier Brook...

ATV Trails Are Now Open!!! More
Good News Is Rt 157 Is Now An Access Route
A couple pieces of information-
1. There are new Access Route signs on RT. 157 between RT.
11/Grindstone Road and Lennies Superette. Through this area you
should operate your machine in the travel lane and not on the
shoulder/break down lane. This is new this year. The roadway speed
limit in this section is 35 mph. You should follow the posted
speed limit.
2.
With the road construction taking
place on the RT. 157 bridge over I95 be sure to follow the traffic
signals and wait for the green. You are required to follow the
same rules as vehicles.
3. When traveling on 83 south of the clubhouse in Medway, we
have changed the way the trail goes around the sand pit. In the
past the trail went to the right and around behind the sand pit
the same as the snowmobile trail. We now have the ATV trail going
to the left of the pit. Coming north you stay straight as opposed
to turning left. The new route is marked and “No ATV” signs are
posted on the old.
4. On 83 north of the clubhouse off of the Madden Road there is
a new loop you can take. It’s called the Wildflower loop and just
adds some extra miles you can now ride legally. Please stay on the
marked trail and do not take side roads off of it. When the new
trail to Millinocket opens later this summer it will be off this
trail.
There are places on the trail that still need some work and
this will be ongoing.
Not all clubs are opening their trails on the 15th so please
check with other clubs where you plan to ride.
Enjoy the trails! Ride safe and respect our landowners who let
us ride on their land. Please carry in and carry out, do not
litter on the trails.
