OATMEAL STOUT

Based on a recipe from "Brew Your Own" Magazine Sept 2000 pg. 31

7 lbs. Light extract plus ¾ lb. roasted barley or

7 lbs. Dark extract plus ½ lb. roasted barley

¾ lb. 72 degree German dark crystal

1 lb. Oatmeal

1 oz Kent Gouldings 6%

Bring these grains to a mash (steep) temperature of 150 deg F in 2.5 gal water. Hold 45 mins

Sparge grains with warm water into brew pot

Add the malt extract, bring to a boil

Boil with 2/3 oz Hops 45 mins Add another 1/3 oz hops for an additional 15 mins.

Add to water in carboy, bring to 5 gal, cool, add yeast
