COFFEE STOUT

 

1 lb roasted barley

Bring these grains to a mash (steep) temperature of 160-170 deg F. Hold 15-20 mins

Bring 1 gal of water to a boil in the brew pot.

Sparge grains with cool water into brew pot

Add 6.6 lbs dark malt extract

Optional – add 1 1/3 lb honey (add in more or less depending on gravity desired).

Boil with 1 oz Northern Brewer Hops 30 mins

Add another 1/2 oz hops for an additional 10 mins.

Add 1 Tsp Irish Moss for 5 mins

Add ½ oz hops and turn off heat

Add to water in carboy, add in strong coffee mixture, cool, add yeast
